purchased new aspire 5000 charger on amazon which said it had a 1 year warranty, however when trying to enter # below barcode on charger to activate warranty it says invalid. # is not actually 11 digits...M1208002-002. this is the only # on device besides a smaller one on bottom, 87860216. is this actually an acer charger or is this company just selling chargers with the acer logo?

    Hello,

Acer parts do not have to be registered. In US if you order on the acer store site,  when we ship the part i.e. a charger/adapter then we capture the serial number of the charger and it has a one year warranty, no need for the customer to register the part.

Do not know how it works with amazon and in what country you ordered the charger.

You may want to check with amazon what their warranty policy is. If you refer to a serial number or SNID number for the part it may be different than the SNID of a computer or other acer product that has indeed an 11 digit SNID code or alphanumeric code SN. Parts do not have the same type of identification, it is a part of a product.

FYI information the store site for acer is:

    http://store.acer.com/store/aceremea/global

    'Hope this helps.
