Predator 17 G5-973 keyboard backlight not working

Hey guys,

 

today I bought the Acer Predator 17 G5-973 (i7-7700HQ, GTX1060 etc...) and I've been having issues with the keyboard backlight.

It won't turn on no matter what I do. Fn + F9 is not working, opening PredatorSense and messing with the settings is not working either. I tried updating all the drivers using DriverBooster from IObit (after installing the drivers from acer.com) and I also updated my Windows 10 to the latest version. Nothing helped. I tried to turn it on when it was dark to fool the ambient brightness sensor (if there's any) but again, no luck.

 

Can anyone help me please? I don't want to send my notebook to the service center the first day I bought it

Well, after several hours of trying to fix this, I called Acer and I was told this must be a hardware issue. I'll be returning the notebook today.
