Hi,

I have an Acer Aspire Z1 601 - the machine had been left on overnight and when returning to the machine I noted that the screen was black, I had to switch the power on and off to get back to normal. When back at the desktop I noted there was no internet access with a red flag through the internet ican at the taskbar though there was no wifi icon.

After running the troublshooter which advised me that a network cable was unplugged, I realised at this point that the lack of wifi was the issue.

I had went to Device Manager and notd that there was a hidden entry for wifi under Network Adapters. I opted to uninstall the wifi component also selecting remove drivers from the system.

The problem I have now is that I cannot get the wifi icon to appear in Device Manager, I have reinstalled the wifi\network drivers rebooted etc but still no wifi.

Is the network card replaceable? would replacing the network card solve my no wifi issue?

Or am I completely missing something simple?

Appreciate your advice

Kind regards

David

    Hi,

You could try disconnecting mains, remove any other cables or USB connections(if you have), press the Power button for few seconds and leave the PC to rest for a while, then reconnect the mains and try starting.

If you are using only WiFi, disble the Ethernet connection in Network and sharing centre, go to Network Sharing centre, right click Ethernet and disable it.
