Hi everyone,

Just signed up to this community and happy to be here.

I do video editing and motion graphics with Adobe Premiere Pro cc and Adobe After Effects CC. (Lately, the Adobe products becoming GPU driven (if that's the right terminology)

Looking a new mobile workstation and I very like the new Predator 17 and 17X (i7, GTX 1070, 1080, 64GB DDR4), especially the design

Asking the community here is this something that will be good enough for my needs, editing and motion graphics?

Does anyone know if HK processor is good for my need, or I should stick to HQ?

The reason I am asking is that I'm not familiar with gaming and gaming set-ups, but for sure i know that the Acer brand is incredible, reliable and the gaming machines are very powerful.

Thank you in advance to those who respond to my question.

Lastly, don't like Mac, at all.

Thank you,

Alex

Both machines are great and both will suit your needs well. Of course the 17X will perform better as it is overclockable and because of its more powerful CPU 7820HK and GPU gtx1080 and also running much hotter, especially when overclocked. I have the 17X and it is an excellent piece of machinery.

It all depends on your decision but neither choice will be wrong.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

ven98, Thank you, I don't have a problem with the heat.

I always carry a cooling pad "master cool" with me.

I choose a laptop over desktop due to mobility, and I can easily switch locations.

Definitely getting the 17X, and after I'll max out the spec with hard drives and ram Smiley Happy

Thank you for your time and sharing the experience

    Take care
