I have performed a clean installation of Windows 10 Enterprise 1703. I have installed all the latest drivers from the ACER site with the exception of bluetooth, which I will not be using. I installed the latest Predator Sense and it BSODs when I launch Predator Sense with a KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED error, what failed: iocbios2.sys.

Any suggestions?

which BIOS version is installed on your laptop?

    windows logo key + r

    type

    msinfo32

    report BIOS DATE/Version string

have a look if you installed Intel extreme tune utility manager, if so, uninstall it

In one of my iterations of debugging this, I did purposely install the latest Intel Extreme Tuning Utility Manager to see if it would fix things, but this is a complete clean install with only ACER's latest drivers.

I saw some reports on the newer BIOS updates causing problems, so I was afraid to update it. The readme isn't very clear about what it does either. Verbatim from the readme: "Rlease Note: 1. Update Micro code 2. Update ME version"

The bios is version 1.06, 11/12/2105. I know it's at least 2 versions behind. I called techsupport was sort of hoping they'd advise me to flash it, but they had me do some other monkey work, which was completely orthogonal to my goal of needing to install a prehardened image on this laptop.

Flashed the bios and still crashes. Installed the latest Intel Extreme Tuning Utility - still crashes. Uninstalled Intel Extreme Tuning Utility - still crashes. When installed, XTU crashes with same error. I did notice that the prebuilt image had older versions of Intel graphics drivers, audio driver, and Predator sense. For corporate reasons, I cannot use the prebuilt image.

honestly i don't have other ideas...apart trying to re-install the factory windows and have  a quick check if it still crashes, if not, probably is some sort of incompatiiblity with the enterprise version.

i have a g9-791 with the latest BIOS, TXE, Intel VGA drivers and so on...no BSOD at all.

I reinstalled latest windows 10 enterprise and NO drivers and it still crashes. So windows must be installing XTU. I'm going to try and update windows. I could try Windows 10 Pro, even though corporate policy disallows it...just to test. It's a bit frustrating. Thanks for the help.

installing another windows version, it's needed only to narrow a little the culprits; not need it to use on your corporate.

I faced the same problem yesterday after playing games. my pc just froze . I waited for a good 10-15 mins and forced shut down . When I started it again and opened Predator sense my pc just crashed (blue screen and the same msg) so it restarted and tried again same thing happened . I uninstalled Predator sense and installed Predator sense of g9-791 (I have g9-793) there were no overclocking options and it didn't show cpu frequency so I upgraded to my pc version of Predator sense and it didn't show cpu frequency so I installed Intel XTU and restarted and tried again .no success .I uninstalled XTU and restarted . At this time it worked.

    I hope this helps
