    Ok, the secure boot option hadn't changed.  However I dug around and found out how to enable it to be changed.  You have to set a supervisor password, then it'll open up as an option to change.  So I just did.  Gonna try the cold boot again.

    Ok, cold boot attempt with no stick, I get no bootable device.  With stick, it just goes into the same thing it has been.  The restore/refresh/troubleshoot screen doesn't come up.  I haven't seen that since the first restore attempt.

    This is new.  Instead of the usual autopiloted attempts, the server window gave up a command prompt.

    Setting a super password was the right thing to try next. Now go back an do another power down coldboot F2 back into the BIOS menu. You gotta disable the SECURE BOOT option in UEFI mode. Don't forget that super password!!! Jack E/NJ
