Not only does this phone have almost no available memory because it's stuffed chock-full of pre-installed garbage that can't be unistalled, but whatever little is left gets filled in a snap -- every app saves its data to the internal memory. I have some offline maps, some reference apps with large app data -- and that's it, the memory is full. Even if an app has an option to choose the data location, and the phone seems successful in informing the app that it has both internal and external storage, both are the same to the app -- both point to the internal memory. I have an old tablet running Android 4.1, and there all those same apps store their data on the SD card without any additional user actions. I don't care if that's a bug in Android 5.1 or in the phone, but that's just annoying.
