Hello! I'm on the edge of buying an Acer Predator 15 laptop (G9-593-71EH) and before I make a decision to buy it I am wondering how to upgrade the SSD storage. The 256Gb it comes with is not enough for me. I prefer to have a lot of storage on the drive that contains my OS.
After looking through reviews, I found that this laptop has two 128Gb M.2 (B+M) key in RAID-0 configuration, combining the two SSD's into one 256Gb drive. Ideally I would like to take these two SSD's out and replace with a single 1TB SSD without any RAID configuration. Is this possible?
I did call Acer store and they told me the SSD can only be upgraded to 512Gb max. Is this true? If so, is this 512Gb per SSD slot or 512Gb total? If this is a per-slot limit, then could I get my 1Tb by combining two 512Gb SSD's in RAID-0? If this is a total limit then would the maximum limitation be two 256Gb SSD's combined in RAID-0 to add up to 512Gb? What is the actual process to upgrade the SSD's?
All of this is pretty confusing and unclear by looking at the spec sheet and calling the Acer Store. I would greatly appreciate some help since this certainly influences my decision to buy this laptop or go with another brand. Thank you!
