there is a difference in pt/W (Performance per watt)

Pentium inside P6000        pt/W~2.33
i3 370m                                 pt/W~3.16
i3 380m                                 pt/W~3.34

Pretty much same question, I want to upgrade my 7741G (i5-460M, R5650, HDD) to i7-640M or i7-720QM (didnt decide yet, get more cores or more Hz?) and SSD.
Can I use my free mini PCI-E slot for SSD? I have 2 of them, one is used by WiFi card and the second is empty (some models used it for Bluetooth module). Is this port connected to SATA controller and will work with SSD or not?

You should be able to use the Arrandale i7 processors like the  620M and 640M, not the QM version. I believe the PCI-e slots are reserved for low bandwidth devices, providing only the USB function they need for the WiFi or Bluetooth. No SATA there. :( You might be able to swap out the ODD for a SSD though.
