No Bootable Device message from Recovery Disk

The HDD crashed on my Acer Aspire One D257 3 months out of warranty.  I ordered the Recovery Disks (including a System Disk and Language Disk) from Acer and tried to recover the original HDD, but had no luck.  I kept getting messages saying there were problems with the HD.  I replaced the HDD and tried the System Disk and Recovery Disks that came from Acer but keep getting the No Bootable Device message even after setting the Boot Manager to USB CD ROM.  What can I do?

Does the new hard drive have any partitioning?  If not, you may try partitioning the drive where the first active partition is large enough to install the OS.
