Acer aspire S7 micro-hdmi to vga adapter not working

Recently I bought an acer aspire s7 (amazing machine) and I was planning to use it primarily at work and for presentations. All of the projectors at my work place have only vga connectors. I tried using the micro-hdmi to vga adapter that comes with the computer, but it does not seem to work properly. Here are some of the things that I see:

- Adapter starts to warm up (I am not sure if that is normal)

- Computer and projector/monitor detect the connection, but the screen is blank

- I have tried multiple monitors/projects and I always get the same result

- I have tried changing the resolution and refresh rate, but no luck

My next guess is that I might have received a faulty adapter in my box. I have read online that a lot of people seem to have problems with micro-hdmi to vga connections, but I have heard nothing about acer problems with hdmi/vga.

I was just curious, is there anyone out there that has an s7 and has successfully connected to a vga monitor?

Mine works fine. You may try contacting Acer to see if they can provide a new adapter.
