New Laptop Not Working

hi my brother in law has given me his acer aspire e15 to look at cos i used to do a bit with computers, however i have no idea what is going on here.it is brand new and he said it worked ok for a week then it wouldn't boot up at all, keeps asking for windows installation disk, anyway put that in but when it says press any key to boot from disk then nothing happens, then comes up with error message the boot configuration data for your pc is missing or contains errors. (i think he's dropped it. sinical i know but laptops don't usually act in this way

1. if you press Alt+F10 keys at boot, are you able to enter recovery?

2. click on Repair your computer.

3. Click on Troubleshoot and in the Advanced options. First thing you may try is the Automatic Repair.

4. If that does not help, then select Command Prompt. Enter the following four commands into the prompt.
bootrec /fixmbr
bootrec /fixboot
bootrec /scanos
bootrec /rebuildbcd
Once the command completes, restart the computer.

Hi i've tried almost everthing now thanks  and thanks for your input, i managed to get into the bios to get the machine to read off the disk, and it started loading windows from the disk, it showed the windows 10 logo and the loading spinney thingy(thats tech speech) did that for about 10 seconds then just stopped for ages before going back to the boot menu and start up, just going round in circles now. cant get any command promt oh that would be so useful
