Traceable Factory Reset? ACER 14 CB3-431

Hi, I bought an Acer Chromebook 14 (love it!) nearly two weeks ago, but I found a better spec, reconditioned one at a lot cheaper price, and bought that also. I've gone through the store's term and conditions, where I bought the original, and can return the original for a full refund as long as the CB has not been turned on etc. and nothing has been downloaded blah blah..... Unfortunately, it has and I have downloaded. All the other conditions have been satisfied

My question is this, if I do a factory reset, is there any way the store can tell this has been done?

It's possible to detect use despite powerwash.
Flash a recovery image to put it back the way you got it.
