Hi, i am using Acer Laptop with Windows 8. it is connected and working fine with my Wifi network at my home. all for sudden it can't connect to the same wifi network which was connected before. but wifi is working fine, can able connected to I Pad and mobile phones.

even I tried to restart the modem/router and laptop but nothing works.

last option changes the Wifi name and password in Router settings and then it can able to connect with new Wifi name.

it is happening more frequently with my laptop. i have to keep chaning my Wifi username and password more frequently, is there any permanent fix for this problem.

thanks.

I have only a few ideas. The name of network can not have special characters. Next try logging into router once connected from laptop. See if option to add your laptop to router table is possible. By this I mean the MAC address of laptop. This should allow it to connect without the required handshake password. Test if this problem occurs with other wifi connections like a public hotspot. Was a update to your wifi device in laptop installed? Did a connection utility change the way it connects? If it's a ISP provided setup did they make changes causing the connection issue? Is this problem after awake from sleep mode but not from cold boot? Have you tried lowering the connection protocols like say from "n" to "g" only in settings of laptop wifi card device manager? If you hard wire to same wifi router does it connect?

Overall my first hunch is a connection utility for security wants refresh each time you connect thus forces you to change the info and needs to be set in its options not to require this on a home "secure" network and not treat it like a public hotspot.
