Hi folks - can anyone help me with some upgrade suggestions to keep my little beautie working as well as possible?

It's on WIndows 10 quite happily but I have the following issues.

Battery - both the onboard and external battery that were shipped with it are pretty useless now and so the maching is always in mains and never mobile. How do I go about changing the internal battery? Any suggestions as to where I buy one and how to do it?

Fan - Even if only carrying out simle tasks the fan kicks in and is very loud. Is this a driver issue or hardware replacement thing? Again, is this something I can do and if so what should I buy?

Wifi - finally the range is terrible. Compared to a Ipad, it is appalling. Should I upgarde the internal adapter or use an external USB device? If so, any recommendations on some hardware that will make it as good as an Ipad?

Thanks ever so much for any advice offered!

Best,

Tracey

Link to changing internal battery--- https://www.myfixguide.com/manual/acer-aspire-s7-191-disassembly/

Link on where to buy ~$50. Take your pick.--- https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=AP12E3K.

Was fan noisy and run as much immediately before you installed Win10? First try vacuuming the air intake port and blowing air into the air exhaust port to dislodge and chase away any dust bunnies that could be causing abnormal heating & fan operation.

For the wifi, open Device Manager. If you see no red or yellow warnings highlighted, click on network adapters. Double click on the wifi adapter. Click on drivers. Then update driver. Let Win10 search for the best driver and do its thing.

Many thanks for your help Jack!

In fairness the fan has always been noisy - before Windows 10.

As I haven't kept an eye on this forum since purchasing I wondered if it had always been considered to be an inferior part and whether a replacement existed. It doesn't affect performance but does get hot on the lap and so I guess that's why the fan has to work hard....so probably a can of worms?

    Many thnaks again!
