My ssd is not being recognized, I get boot device not found.
1) I have the Sandisk SDSSDX-120G-G25 (120GB Sata III 6gbps ssd)
2) Imaged it from the hard drive using EaseUS Partition Master 9.2.1. Home Edition (Copy partition) using a usb external drive enclosure for the SSD.
3) Removed currend hd (320GB sata drive) and installed SSD; I did notice the flimsy plastic connecter which I initially pulled off completely, but carefully re-instered the end that goes to the back of the netbook.
4) Boot again - gives no boot device found.
What am I doing wrong. I did confirm multiple times that the sata connecter is attached to the netbook. I carefully removed the ssd and replaced the original drive and everything is booting ok etc. So the connector is not an issue.
I did not go into the BIOS; is anything further needed to configure the ssd to be used for the netbook. Is the SATA III interface supported?
I did confirm that the ssd is ok - re-inserted it into the USB 3.0 external drive and it is able to read and write ok. However I have no way to confirm it is bootable ok.
Update:
I entered the BIOS (F2); Boot shows IDE0: Sandisk SDSSDX120GG25
On exit gives this during boot
For Atheros PCIE Ethernet Controller v2.0.0.9(05/08/09)
Check cable connection!
PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel PXE ROM.
No bootable device - insert book disk and press any key
Update2:
Ok, the correct way to copy data is to use EaseUS Backup Not PartionMaster (Clone disk - actually clone partion option). I redid the copy, same result.
Thanks,
