Aspire VX5-591G Battery LIfe

Hi everyone,

 

Is it me or does the battery not last as long as claimed in some of the reviews I've read?

 

They state that the battery should last between 3-5 hours depending on what you use the laptop for, according to tests with FurMark etc..but my battery seems to die way faster than that.

 

I was playing some games on an android emulator and sure, that activates the Nvidia GPU which takes a higher toll on the battery, but after an hour or maybe even less, the battery was already halfway? Seems rather fast?

 

Is this normal? Does anyone have some tips how I can optimize battery usage with energy settings etc..This is my first laptop too, been used to a desktop, which ofcourse never loses battery power. The battery seems so random too when I hover over it, it goes from 2 hours to 5 hours to 4 to 2 to .. After just typing this post I'm already down 5% with five minutes of just this page open..maybe it's normal, maybe it's not.
