Having problems with Acer Aspire. Purchased recovery disks. Did not work so we purchased & ins

We were having problems.. computer would not restore to factory settings.  Purchased the recovery & system disks from Acer.  It would install untill the very last step and then say it failed. ( I/O error)  We purchased a new hard drive compatible with the the system.  On the new hard drive, we install the system disk and then start with the number one recovery disk, we start copying and once it hits 5-6%  and it automatically shuts down everytime.  Any ideas.

 

Therecovery disks seemed to work on the hold hard drive. The fan is working.

    You may try formatting the hard drive, and making sure the first active partition is large enough to hold the operating system. If the system is still powering down when you are trying to recovery, I would recommend you contact Acer support for your region to inquire about setting your unit up for service.
