Aspire 8943g won't boot from 2nd drive

I have an Aspire 8943g-9319 with Windows 7 Home.  It has a 500gb hard drive (factory) in the main hard drive bay.  I just installed, added a 128gb SSD in bay 2 which windows recognizes, and the bios recognizes it.  I'm able to read the files on it from windows on drive 1, bay 1, factory drive.

I used the recovery discs to put windows on the 2nd drive in bay 2.  However, the laptop will not boot to the 2nd drive.  I've tried changing the boot priority to go straight to the SSD, but it hangs on a black screen with a blinking grey dash.  It can't seem to boot to the 2nd windows install on the 2nd drive.  I have installed the latest bios update to 1.06, and it's still a no go.  What do I do?  Thanks for your help in advance.

Also I wanted to say for the sake of others trying to do recovery, you have to have 5 acer recovery discs.  I tried to recover with discs 1 of 3, 2 of 3, and 3 of 3, but those discs are not bootable.  You have to start with the one labeled System Disc and you'll also need the langauge disc.  I didn't have all my discs all together, but when I realized I was missing the System Disc, I was able to find it.  Without the system disc, you can't recover.

I suggest you first try booting the SSD in bay1 but without the HDD attached to check if your installation from bay2 was OK. If not, I suggest you try re-installing with the SSD in bay1 without the HDD attached. Jack E/NJ
