I just purchased the Aspire TC-280, because my last PC died.  I've done Image backups using Acronis and Macrium and I would like to install the image from my old PC to this new Aspire.  So far I can not find a way to boot from the DVD drive, to get the Macrium image to install.  The old PC was Windows 10 and this new Aspire is also Windows 10, so I should be able to put the old image on this new PC, shouldn't I?

I went to ACER support, to try to find a manual that might tell me how to boot from the DVD drive, but I couldn't find a manual (nothing was included in the box?)

I've also been told that my old copy of Microsoft Office, which was running under Windows 10, will not install on the new PC?

Even though this PC is suppose to have 4 cores and operate at 3.5 GHz, it sure seems slower than my old PC that only had 1 core and operated at 3.3 GHz.

i don't suggest you to recover the old image of your PC, since the hardware is completly different and can mess up drivers.

notice that your old PC probably had Legacy BIOS and your TC-280 has UEFI  BIOS, so it's why you can't boot from the DVD old image.

about being slower...if McAfee is installed, uninstall it (the default windows 10 antivirus is good enough).

    I'm not an Acer employee.

After thinking it over, I took your advice and I just have my old hard drive in an external hard drive enclosure.  I have been able to transfer most of my files, and the rest of them I'm still looking for.  It is a shame my Office 2007 will not load on this PC.

Thank you for your suggestion and advice.
