Hello All!

I bought Predator GX-792 month ago everything worked fine until today.

Today I noticed, that it doesn't start on battery. It must be connected to the AC adapter.

After Windows 10 starts, I can see the status of the battery saying "battery is 91%, plugged in, but not charging".

Restarts didn't help.

msinfo32.exe says, that BIOS version is the newest one.

Intel Chipset driver - updated also to the newest one.

Unistalling Battery (via Device Manager) didn't help. Updating its drivers also didn't.

Resetting the battery (via a paperclip pressing the switch) also didn't help.

Acer Care Center says, that battery status is Good.

What else could be done to solve/troubleshoot this?

Or it's just a hardware issue?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Best Regards

Krystian

ok, solved - I hope it will be helpful for somebody in the future:

my colleague diagnosed, that after I've changed ssd disk, most probably a gummy thing fell off from the cover - apparently this little piece of gum keeps a battery switch in the correct position - without it it will behave as previously described: battery won't be charged, but will be still visible.
