Acer Liquid Zest Plus - Notifications driving me nuts

does anyone know how to turn off notifications on the Acer Liquid Zest Plus ?

This is driving me nuts. The phone will just make the notification sound at random times. It gets really annoying specially when it interrupts me when i am on Spotify or Netflix.

Sometimes its because it finds a wifi connection (eventhough i'm not seeking one ) but sometimes there's no real notification because when i check the status bar at the top there are no new icons.

i have gone to Settings > Sound > Notifications > App Notifications and blocked all Notifications for all apps except Messaging and still i am getting notifications.

Is there anywhere else i can turn off notifications ?
