Hi,
One should be able to do the "remove the battery" simulation (since the this machine comes w/ non-removable battery) by pressing and holding down a paper clip for 4 seconds.
I have done that couple of times but when I plug in the AC adapter it still indicates that the battery keeps charging although it supposed to be "removed" and my machine should be working only on the AC power . I'd love to get it right because when I'm home I'd use only AC power and save /extend the battery life.

Any advice / help is welcome!

Thank you.

the clip is just to momentary bypass battery to power reset, this doesn,t bypass the charger circuit.

i highly suggest you to don't connect the AC power when "removing the battery".

Which sadly means there's no way to use this particular laptop by using ONLY an AC power?
    Or is there ??

But is there any way to change the battery once this one wears out?

you need to open the bottom of your laptop, disconnect the battery plug and put a new one inside; you can do it by yourself if you are able to find the same part number.

In my case i will not buy a notebook "not useable without battery" again.
I was so used to it from my other Acer devices to remove and reattach the battery easily and to work on AC only, so I didnt even notice this annoying thing at first.

When the standard became thin and light for laptops it just became too difficult to make the battery something easily removed. Batteries these days are very thin, and pretty fragile because of that.
