I used to connect my Samsung HDTV to my laptop just fine.  All of a sudden computer is not seeing TV and vice versa.  I've tried both "Duplicate" and "Extend" without luck.  Have swapped out HDMI cables.

    windows logo key + x

    click on device manager

    click on display adapters

double click on Intel graphic adapter

check if choosing update, will install a new driver or

right click the Intel graphica drive, choose to uninstall and uninstall drivers too

reboot and let windows re-install the drivers

try to connect using your HDMI cable

Thanks for the suggestion IronFly.  Unfortunately I've already tried that without any luck.

check if Intel drivers software can find a suitable driver, download it but don't install it

    http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html

uninstall the graphic adapter with the software too the install the downloaded driver.
