I am looking for a laptop capable of comfortably running an Occulus Rift. It will be for a demo at a convention so it HAS to be able to demo VR with no lagging or hesitation.

I went to the Microsoft Store and they said only a desktop would do (They were suggesting the Lenovo Y710 Cube).

From what I can see this Predator has all the same specs. Any I missing something here?

Should the Predator in this configuration (Core i7-6700HQ, 16GB RAM, 1 TB HDD + 256 GB SSD, GeForce GTX 1070) be able to comfortably run VR? The machine will be dedicated to this application and will not be used for anything else.

    TIA

This guide shows you kind what to expect for pricing and specs but that laptop should run vr at a very solid 1080p 60fps

I was concerned because it doesn't show up on Oculus' list of approved laptops but I wasn't sure how current or complete their list is.

You can never really go by those lists, new computers come out every few months and those lists only contain computers that they have personally tested. I have the g9-793 (similar specs) and I haven't tested VR yet but I know this can run 4K at 60+FPS with zero issues. It also has a sticker right on the front that says "VR Ready". Side note if you are planning to do VR you should look into getting the Acer FrostCore fan, it replaces the DVD drive (it slides in and out, its awesome) because this will get hot running 4K so I imagine VR is even hotter.
