Hello community,

On a freshly installed Windows 10 (but all updates are installed by now) I noticed something strange: Whenever I unplug (yes, unplug!!!) the laptop, the wifi downstream goes up to 1.400 MB/s - but as soon as the laptop is plugged in it drops to 200 MB/s max (wifi in a vacation apartment - so LAN is not an option right now).

The energy mode is set to high performance, so is the wireless adapter in the advanced power settings. I unchecked "Allow to switch off this device" in the device manager for this network adapter.

Driver is Qualcomm Atheros, 4.0.2.217, 2/25/2016

This is so weird... In the performance tab of the task manager I can clearly see how the downstream drops immediately as soon as I plug the laptop in.

Does anyone else ever have this problem? What can I do? What driver can I install instead?

I would appreciate any hints! Thank you very much

go to energy settings (performance, balanced and energy saving) and change the settings for wifi adapter. select max performance for both battery & net.

    No more problems!
