Under heavy load, there are significant temperature differences between the cores. Is it normal? The temperatures drop pretty fast once the load is over, which indicates it shouldn't really be a pasting issue.

Bad thermal paste on the CPU, one side makes better contact.

    Does warranty cover this?

Yep, Acer even replaced motherboard for me, but no help... Had to repasted it myself.

I don't want to replace nothing. Repasting would take only 1 hour at best. I'll even give them the thermal paste to do it with... I'll probably end up doing it myself. In my G751 I did, and for that model you had to take it ALL APART for this operation. Here is easier. Are there any warranty stickers inside or something?

Talked to ACER today, this was their response: there's nothing wrong with the cooling system.

Then I told them that's a bull excuse, and HWiNFO, Intel XTU and CoreTemp can't all say the same thing. The temperature is taken directly from the sensors after all...

Then they told me to send an email to their service, and told me that It's normal to have temperature differences between cores as loads can differ. I told them I used Prime95 to stress all the cores to their maximum.

I sent an email to their service as well. Probably will give me some bull reason why this is normal and they won't repaste it without paying to do it.

How hard is it for manufacturers to understand how important thermal paste is? And for a Gaming laptop to not have proper pasting is absurd. Seems like talking to any manufacturer about this issue is just beating around the bush. Seems like I have to do it myself...

2 cores high and 2 cores low (2 threads per core) mean only one thing, one side has bad contact to the heatsink.

    Repasting will fix this.

Bad sensors do happen, but, it's ussualy only 1 core,

They won't do it without me paying for it. Yeah right. I am done with Acer and it's service. Not different from other manufacturers too. They won't admit they did something wrong, and they will make you pay for something you didn't do, but are affected by

So today I opened up my laptop to try replacing the thermal paste with some Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut. One of the screws from the cooling system WAS NOT SCREWED IN PROPERLY, i noticed when i unscrewed them. I didn't get to remove the heatsink though as one of the seals, which in the 2 teardown videos you don't hear anything about (it's some sort of metalic sheet that is glued to a voltage regulator), prevented me to do so without making it obvious that someone tampered with it. Anyway...i started screwing it back, but ONE OF THE SCREWS, TO THE SIDE OF THE RAM WOULD NOT SCREW IN. I am super frustrated that it wouldn't screw, I replaced it with something similar, in order to cover it.

I will take it to the service on monday maybe so they can replace the Thermal Paste. Now my questions are:

    1) Will me messing with that screw in the service bay void my warranty (to the side of the RAM slot)?

    2) Can I tell the people in the Service Center to 'reseal' it? The laptop is working fine, i tested it, the CPU temps are a few degrees lower now too. The problem was that one of the screws from the cooling solution wasn't properly screwed in. You can say that.... ACER screwed up lol.
