Broken RAM slots... what to do?

I've recently upgraded my RAM on my Acer Aspire 5253 laptop. Not long after, I started getting BSODs with the error SYSTEM_EXCEPTION_SERVICE. So I used MEMTEST86+ to test my RAM, one module at a time, and got multiple errors. So I put my old memory back in. At the first boot, I had the same BSOD. So I tested my old RAM and, again, got multiple errors.

I can only assume that the problem comes from the slots and not the memory (but if anyone has another hypothesis I'm completely opened).

Now if indeed the slots are at fault, can those be changed? If so, can it be done easily? Is it worth it considering the price?

RAM slot issues would require replacing the mainboard.

"Worth" of such service is not something we are able to comment on. Everyone will have a different opinion.

Hello

Thank you for your reply.

Bare in mind that I meant "worth" as in the price of a replacement main board versus the price of a new PC. The PC cost me about 300$ and, as I can see, a new main board is not far from that price. So maybe it would be better for me to just buy a new one altogether.

My computer is no longer under warranty so, is there a way for me to find where I can get it repaired? I cannot seem to find it using the link you gave me.
