Problem connecting to wifi

I just purchased a used Acer laptop and can not get it to connect to the internet it can not locate the IP address any suggestions of what I can try

    Hi,

    Could you please post the model of your laptop, WiFi adapter, Driver used and the Operating System.

    command prompt as admin - type IPConfig /all and it will show you all the ips

    As the others are waiting to suggest, I expect that the previous owner had the wireless set for a static address. Just go into properties for the wifi card and reset IPv4 and IPv6 to both be on automatic.
