(Aspire S5-371T) some text and icons appear blurry/pixelated

Hello,

I received the Acer Aspire S13 (S5-371T) a few days ago, with a 1920 by 1080 13.3" display. However, certain Windows dialog boxes and other menus appear pixelated/blurry (the text and the icons), such as the Device Manager:

It might be hard to tell from the photo, but the screen is nice and sharp for the most part, except with specific programs like LibreOffice AND with some parts of Windows 10. Device Manager looks a lot nicer on a 15.6" laptop with 1366x768 resolution.

The scaling (Settings App>Display) is at the deafault 150%, and when I change it to 125% the problem seems to go away. But then everything is too small for my liking.

Does anyone have any idea what to do?

Thanks!

I had the same issue when i bought my acer as well. You need to calibrate your display probably. Go on your search bar on the bottom left and type in "Cleartype". Should fix the problem.

This question is old, and I am sure the OP found a solution in the meantime. I just resolved this, and came to post about it in case others are on the hunt for a remedy as I was.
It was simple and I really should have thought of it right away, alas I didn't until after much frustrations and being bummed at the idea of sending my new monitor back.
After doing much of what others said here, scaling, going through cleartype calibrations, I realized I hooked up my monitor with the DVI cable I was using with my previous monitor.
Needless to say, upon swapping it out with the provided HDMI one everything went crystal clear.

After trying a lot of methods, I'll share what I did that fixed the blurriness for my Acer Aspire A515-51G laptop. This might help people that look at this post through Google search. This fixed it for me; it seemed silly, but I hope this helps someone!

Short Answer: Use the custom scaling in Advanced scaling settings, do NOT use drop down menu's preset scaling options (125%, 150%, 175%, etc).

    Long Answer:
    Right click desktop, choose Display.
Scroll down until you see Scale and layout. If you're on a laptop, you'll see 125% is recommended and selected. Here's a pic:

Change it to 100% and then check to see if there's still blurriness.
If there isn't, then go back to Scale and layout and click Advanced scaling settings.
Scroll to the bottom for Custom Scaling and enter your desired scaling percent (even if it's 125%).

Asterick, thanks for taking the time to post this.

This fixed my issue in MANY different programs where i was seeing blurry test. Notably this occurred on pretty much every 'popup' notification window and it was driving me mad.
