@DingbatQueen i solved my crackling noises out of the box by removing the audio drivers permanently and reinstalling the acer official ones then let them update you can also try the realtek ones and to increase the audio the solution is the DFX audio Enhancer as this realtek we have doesnt support the srs audio here is what i have and working loud and perfect

Great suggestions, thank you! I read that the Realtek and Acer drivers were the source of the problem though... There have been posts about the Acer drivers not being updated and that both Realtek and Acer drivers weren't entirely compatible with Windows 10. Have you read that also? I do have concerns about the Realtek drivers since when I first removed them the audio/video problem was fixed but it lasted for only one week. Now the problem is worse than ever. I also read from many users that there were Dolby issues as well. It's all very confusing, I'm not sure whose got THE answer for my specific model. I'd love to hear your thoughts about that. Where do I get the DFX Audio Enhancer? Is that free? Are there certain settings that I'd use after installing it? I'm just not sure what to expect. Thank you for your post!

No its not free (you have a free version but limited options) but its worth it :) and its just install normally and setup to use your sound card to boost the sound i use the premium it was cheaper to me i only paid the upgrade as i always used it since 2009/2010 on my xp pro sp3 also with srs audio sandbox wich its not compatible with our new realtek devices its a shame as it would boost the sound even more :p

I just bought an Acer Triton 500, and the sound is really terrible on it. It's clearly got some kind of spatial enhancement on it, but it's seemingly impossible to turn off. It makes everything coming from the speakers or headphones sound like you're in a room, much like those "concert hall" equalizer things you see all the time. Please tell me how to get rid of it, I really dislike watching/listening to things on my laptop because of it.
