Hi! Can someone please provide some info about what kind of RAID 0 configuration does the GX-792 support? from my research i know that Kaby Lake support 16+8 PCI lanes, 16 for the GPU and 8 for DMI (PCIE high speed storage), but i don't know if it is the case here. i heard some rumors that only one drive works as PCIE NVME and the rest only on sata speeds. I want to know if the GX-792 supports RAID 0 with multiple NVME drives on PCIE speeds or only on SATA speeds, and if at least two drives can work with PCIE X4 speeds (4+4 lanes with a total of 8, as Kaby Lake supports)? If someone knows, please provide some info! Thanks!

    Hello,

    According to the Acer specifications:

    • CON5102: SSD M.2 2280 SATA 3.0 and PCIe X4 NVMe (both supported)
    • CON5103: SSD M.2 2280 SATA 3.0
    • CON5104: SSD M.2 2280 SATA 3.0
    • HDD: SATA 3.0

The 2nd PCIe X4 is used by Alpine Ridge for USB Type-C

Oh, thanks a lot! this clarified a lot about where the remaining 4 pci lanes went! although i didn't think they linked the usb type-c directly to the DMI, but it's understandable as it doubles as Thunderbolt port aswell. it's clear now. Thanks!

Hi. Just for people visiting this page (because if you look up "CON5104 M.2" is the first one to appear) I've installed a 240GB wd green ssd m.2 2280 and works great. You should be able to install any SATA M.2 2280 on CON5104. If you're wondering about M KEY or B KEY even if the disk has both B and M, the slot is Key-M so it works fine. Hope this helps.

I would just like to add that technically any m.2 up to 2tb should work fine
