Aspire R5-471T Mousepad not working

I had the laptop in tablet mode, and when I flipped back to laptop mode, the mousepad was no longer working.  I checked the settings, everything was set to "on".  I checked for a driver update, and I'm up to date on the driver.  When I reboot and Windows 10 comes up, very quickly a picture of a finger touching the mousepad shows up at the top of the screen, with a red outline and a line through it (like the Ghostbusters logo).  I guess I don't know if that means that it thinks it's turned off, or if that indicates a hardware issue?  I did try to disable/enable the driver, as well as remove the driver and reinstall, and that did not work.

Was just curious if anyone else has seen this issue?
