This darned laptop has gave me so much trouble over the past few weeks and after running mutiple stress tests and switching my OS to Ubuntu Linux distro i think i have finnaly found the culprate. that being said I need two things from y'all, first the problems i had were as followed. #1: on windows 10 it would frequently black screen then freeze then cut off or just black screen or black screen and freeze while doing anything more than using chrome, Plex, or non-demanding tasks. #2: Once I switched to Ubuntu the blackouts stoped but it will still hang, and sometimes after hanging, restart; this again will happen if i try doing anything more demanding than watcing youtube. Before somone asks no it isn't over heating and yes i checked to make sure it wasn't the MEM or the GPU. jwhat i have concluded is it's the PSU inside the computer, If you agree then does anyone know how to get a replacement and or repair it? Thanks for your time.

I assume you mean this happens whether or not the external charger is attached? If so, seems to me more like an electrical short via an errant case or board screw. Jack E/NJ

Same person diffrent account. Thing is i don't have a functional battery so there curently isn't one in the laptop, i do know the psu connecter where the cable connects has a short but i have had it braced with duct tape and it worked up until now.

Duct tape is fine. But it still sounds like an intermittent short somewhere else then. Have you ever had the case apart or unscrewed anything close to the mainboard or its trace lines? If so, might wanna double-check to see if a screw might not fully bedded in the plastic and be kissing a trace when re-assembled. Jack E/NJ
