vn7-591g random loud fan noise every couple of minutes

Hi all,

I bought my Vn7-591g a little over two years ago, and till now it worked like a charm.

However, for a couple of days now, the fan kicks in every couple of minutes and runs at full speed for about 30 seconds. I've checked the temperature (idle around 54°C) and cpu load (gpu-z, cpu-z, core-temp), ran FurMark (GPU-test, max temp 74°C)... nothing seems to be out of the ordinary. The noise appears on both Windows 10 and Ubuntu systems and also when I'm in the BIOS. Any idea what could cause it? It's actually getting quite annoying, and I haven't found software to control the fan speed as of yet...

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

Is your model Black Edition? It could be the Dust Defender feature, it spins the fan for 30 secs in the opposite direction.

thank you for your quick reply, yes it is the black edition. Why would it suddenly start/what is causing it, and what can I do?

I think it has built up dust and needs cleaning the fan, you need to get in touch with AcerService centre in your region to get it serviced.
