My 1 and a half year Aspire R11 stopped working. The power is going on and off every 15-20 seconds, no Acer logo on the screen. I can hear that the HD spinning then stop and power is off, then it will power on again without me pushing the botton. 

I have discharged the battery and then charged it full to the blue light - same issue. Took out the memory stick - same issue, took out the 500gb HD and tested it externally with another computer - no errors, even without HD - the poer will still cycle on and off.

Took aout the battery, memory and the HD - same issue.

I think I have a problem with the buit-in power supply on the motherboard.

 

I like this laptop and would like to fix it, but not sure if it is an option and economical .

 

Please let me know if somebody expirience the same issue - and know the solution.
