Battery Life after 1 year?

My Aspire ES1-512 is just over 1 year old but the battery has been running short for several months.   Full charge seems to only last 3 hours or less.  I have not changed any of the factory default settings.  I have also notice that when the green alert comes on, just within a minute or two, the gold 10% comes on.  Sometimes, after the green alert comes on, it will just shut down.  WiFi internet connection is also drastically slowed down when the power gets low.  I checked on APP useage and it shows Chrome using 95% and everything else <1%.   I would think the battery would last longer than this?  Please help, thank you!
