I recetly got the V226HQL, but when I plugged it in, it just cycles through red, green, blue, white, and black. In addition to this, the buttons do not function, and the power LED flips from blue to amber. Pressing any button just displays a small message stating:

                                                                        00
FW VER: 100 20160524
SN: ***
Auto Color: UNDO
Panel: M215HNE-L30

KEY <key pressed> PRESSED
KEY PASS

Troubleshooting steps so far have been

  • Unplugging and replugging in the monitor
  • Restarting the computer
  • Trying a different input (switching from DP to DVI. My video card doesn't have a VGA port)
  • Installing the drivers directly from the Acer website
  • Using the "detect" and "identify" functions in the Windows 10 Display Settings menu

Is there anything else worth troubleshooting, or is it time to return it to Best Buy and get a replacement?

This appears to be a hardware issue that will require service. If the monitor is under warranty please contact Acer support for assistance with repair from this contact link:

After some trial and error with the same problem, I unplugged everything,  including the monitor cable plugged it in and saw the flashing colored screens. then pressed the two right buttons at the same time, it acts like a reset of sorts. Of course this may or may not work for you. My model is G260HC B bd
