Hi, so with all these windows8 tablets coming out I want to get one myself... I have searched for hours for one but every windows8 tablet was so expensive...execpt this one Smiley Happy
I want the Acer w700 to be able to replace my school laptop...the school laptop has i3 processor 4gb ram and intel graphics family, not so good :/ And it also weights that makes my bag heavier, and I travell 1 hour before coming to school and I walk around with my bag alot in my shool so something lighter would definetly be goodSmiley Happy
So I have a few questions...
1. Will this be able to replace my school laptop?
2. Is it portable? What I mean is.. is it easy to take it with you, is it easy to bring it up and start working with school projects on word etc?
3. As I do trravell 1 hour by bus I also want to be able to play some games... so my two favourite games are, Fifa13 and Black Ops 2... will this tablet run the games?
4. And the last question that might seem wierd but I still want to ask it Smiley Happy
Why is this tablet hundreds of dollars cheaper than other tablets with the same or worse specs?

Thanks in advance!

    Good day

I personally wouldnt replace a Laptop with a Tablet, but have a tablet as a portable device to travel with for exactly what i need while travelling. To answer your questions

    1. Compare the full specs of the W700 and your laptop. If you dont need an optical drive, if a bigger screen doesnt matter to you, if upgrading ram doesnt matter to you, etc, then it will be ideal to get the tablet .

    2.  Its portable..11.6" LED Technology LCD. Word, Excel, Powerpoint will definately peform at its best....

    3. This unit comes either with Intel HD Graphics 4000 with 128mb dedicated system memory. Check with the game administrator the minimum requirements of your game.

    4. In my opinion, Acer is not out there to maximise its profit. Remember, they are there to break bariers between people and technology.

I hope I have helped you to some extent.

    Regards,

My school-laptop= intel core i3 processor with intel HD Graphics Family and 4gb ram... The screen is 1366:786 some thing like that... and the screen isnt the best :/
Optical drive: Dont need, never used Smiley Happy
Bigger screen: Doesnt  matter just the best screen wich in this case is th Acer W700 Smiley Happy
Ram: I am not allowed to add or change anything on my school laptop so I dont think I´ll need that Smiley Happy 4gb of ram is well enough for me Smiley Happy

"4. In my opinion, Acer is not out there to maximise its profit. Remember, they are there to break bariers between people and technology." I´m glad to hear that Smiley Happy I got a bit conserned when I saw other tablets with the same specs but for hundreds of dollar more... Smiley Happy
