Having trouble getting the case off of a brand new Aspire Z1-623 to upgrade it from 4GB to 8GB of RAM. Have removed all the screws (including the one hidden by the DVD drive) but the back doesn't seem to want to come off. Any tips?

Cheers,

Ian

    Hi Ian,

Tutorial after removing all screws (1+7):

    Spoiler
    1. Remove the ODD mylar (G) from the system.
    2. Using a flat-tipped instrument, carefully pry up the bottom edge (A) of the rear cover.
    3. Carefully pry open the two sides of the rear cover (B), then flip open the entire cover in an upward direction (C).
    4. Disconnect the power button Board FPC from the power button board connector (D).
    5. Remove the rear cover from the system.

    Hi,

Remove the ODD mylar (G) from the system. How do you do this, is it easy, button push ?

Where is the hard drive, is it easy access then or more to unscrew ? or take out ?

Thank you for help Smiley Wink

    Hi,
I have managed to open the rear cover of the aspire Z1-263 . The hard disk is on the right side and easily accessed. But i can't find the memory slots , thought it was like on lapotops  but the motherboard is protected by metal plates and screws. I bought a 4 Go memory module to upgrade to a total of 8 Go. Windows 10 64 bits is really  so slow ....
