why wont the developer options menu open on my Iconia one 8 model B1-850?

II have attempted many many times to open the developer menu options one my Acer tablet (miodel#B1-850) by tapping quickly on the build number in the about tablet section of the settings menu, I've tried tapping 5, 7, 10, even 50 times and it doesnt even show the prompt that says "you are now ----- steps away from becoming a developer". My question is why won"t the developer menu open or even say that it's about to open when I tap on the build number? Just to make sure i was following the instructions correctly I went ahead and opened up developer options on my galaxy s4 and it worked on the first try.... I was also curious to know if anyone else has had the same issue with their device and if so if they have any type of an answer for me, this has been a tiresome, irritating, and thus far fruitless search for a solution(s).

We tried it on our B1-850 and it worked fine after 7 presses. After the 4th press you'll see a prompt that says you have X number of presses til you get to Dev mode. Once you are in Dev mode there is a green on/off toggle at the upper right of the screen. If you do not see these or cannot access Dev Mode, try resetting the tablet under Settings>Backup and Reset>Factory data reset. Once it is reset it should allow you to go into Dev mode.
