Spin 5 internet speed

Hi,

I bought Acer Spin 5 week or two ago and I started noticing that internet speed is really bad. On all other devices internet speed is measured around 35Mbps and on Spin 5 is around 8Mbps. When I open few tabs at the same time it takes time to load sites and sometimes just freeze. I have no issues with Skype connection neither is disconnecting. It is just slow. Hour ago I was downloading something, talking on the skype and I tried to search on Firefox or Edge and no way it would open anything.
I had issue with Lenovo long time ago and what I went through I never want anyone to go through that, so last options are calling customer service or even sending it to a service. I still have recipt where I bought it and I bought protection plan.
I did google if anyone else had issues and did some things that other people did(change wifi options, update driver etc.) but it didn't change anything. One person was suggesting to open up back cover and switch WIFI adapter from ch1 to ch0. I didn't do that yet.

Did anyone had similar issue and successfully resolved it?

Or the best bet would be to go back, get the money or replace product?

I bought three laptops in past 5 years and all three of them had bad issues. Obviously they are selling **bleep** to Canadians.

Just spoke to those useless at support service. Answer was "this computer doesn't support high speed internet" and "I should talk to internet provider"

I want to take this laptop and slam it. But of course, everything is set so you can't get mad at that person since it wasn't him who create that useless position.

Btw, there is still sticker on the top left saying "Ultrafast wireless".

If anyone had same issue and resolved it please let me know, I'll wait one more day before I go back to the store.

    Hi,

    Could you please post the model of your wifi card and the current driver version, in the mean time try switching your DNS address to Opendns or Googledns;

Go to Network and sharing centre(right click WiFi icon), clcik your card, Properties, highlight Internet Protocol Version 4, Properties, select the radio button "Use the following DNS address" and enter either Opendns or Googledns.

    Open DNS: 208.67.222.222

                     208.67.220.220

    Google DNS: 8.8.8.8

                        8.8.4.4

Thx for reply. I found out that there are some programs interfering with the WIFI, I deleted Acer Access or something like that and I disabled Kaspersky for a while and change was significant(WIFI speed was just like on other devices). I believe anti-virus is the cause.

Just don't understand why and should I get in contact with Kaspersky in that case? I can't delete it since I paid for it

    Hi,

You need removal tool from Kaspersky to uninstall it, as you have already paid for it, just get in touch with them stating your concerns, they might come up with a solution.
