    ok, please update your BIOS:

    http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/BIOS/BIOS/BIOS_Acer_R01.A4_A_A.zip?acerid=636023519980628431&Step1=DESKTOP&Step2=PREDATOR&Step3=PREDATOR%20G3-710&OS=ALL&LC=en&BC=ACER&SC=PA_6

download it, unzip and then run FLASH.bat inside WIN folder, follow onscreen instructions.

once updated, please boot to BIOS pressing Del key, press F9 and then F10.

if before, enter BIOS if gives you an error asking to press F1, do it, enter BIOS, press F9 and then F10, then boot normally to windows

Its still shutting down, I think it might be a overheating issue, if my son is playing a game it shuts down after about 12 minutes, and if he starts it back up and goes back into the game it shuts down again after about 6 minutes,

when using the pc for just browsing it dose not shut down until around an hour

ok, can you hear the CPU fan noise increasing after a while?

if not, you can check inside the case if the CPU fan connector is plugge on the motherboard.

if you hear the fan working, can be a thermal paste problem and need to be checked by service.

i know your son will not like this but i highly suggest you to contact your seller or Acer support service and have it serviced/checked.

I've been having the exact same problem! I just got my G3-710 back from service and the Diagnosis/Repair order says "NO TROUBLE FOUND". Spent about a 100 bucks to ship it ground and am still having these same issues with my games. Specifically Everquest II, Planet Coaster, NoLimits 2, and Cities Skylines.

I'm a very patient guy, but to go through all of that and have the machine sent back a month later with no improvements is kind of ridiculous. Perhaps try sending it out to your local computer repair guy, the Acer crew haven't been exactly helpful in my quest to get my Predator functioning properly. Smiley Sad

Apologies if I have posted this in the wrong area. First time user.
I have a similar problem where by it shuts down randomly. Bought my unit 3 weeks ago and it shuts down by itself and then the CPU fan just starts spinning very fast. Left it doing that for at least 30 minutes thinking the CPU may have over heated (highly unlikely but had to eliminate possible causes), but it just keeps on going on. I have to press and hold the power button for a few seconds to switch it off, then switch it back on and it works again for who knows how long. It just happened today while copying music files from the network to my local 2TB drive.

One time while watching a movie in VLC and had Microsoft Edge open windows explorer, etc. The other two times I walked into my study to find the fan spinning very fast.

I checked all connections, reseated them, no visible signs of burning smells, there is CPU thermal paste, started it up and here we are. We'll see how long this lasts.

My BIOS version is "American Megatrends Inc. R02-B0, 15/12/2017".

I've read it could be a Power Supply (cheap brand) issue not being able to supply the Graphics card when loaded up or just in general. Any help would be greatly appreciated as now it has become worry some to try and work on important documents fearing they could be corrupted with the computer shutting down again.

Did anyone find the solution for this shutdown problem? I am having the same issue and have even upgraded the CPU. Thanks!
