As it turns out the "HDD'  on my TC 780 seems to small on the longer run.

I want to swap it with another bigger model "HDD"

I know I can install programs and save data on another disk.

Question does anybody know how this model "HDD" from Kingston is called?

It's integrated on the motherboard with something like a MSATA connector, but this seems smaller again.

  • Hello,

I think you are talking about the SSD M.2 2280 SATA3.0.

    E.g. Transcend.

I tried to swap the M.2 HD SSD

Cloned the original M.2 to a HDD, put in a M.2 SSD with a larger capacity, cloned the HDD to the new M.2 SSD.

The result was a starting system, but some programs didn't work, not even after reinstalling. (lightroom)

Any suggestions how to put a larger M.2 SSD in the TC 780 16610 and make ik work?? (softwarewise)

    Hello,

Personally I don't use the cloning tools for many reasons. I advise you to perform a new installation from your factory recovery media. FYI, cloned HDD-->SSD it's not the best solution.

    Thank you for the answer.

This IS exactly the reason I want to upgrade the build in M.2 SSD to a larger one.

The SSD is not really big and if I could I would do a new installation, BUT all is on the small M.2 SSD.

As it looks now I have to find a M.2 SSD card where I can plug a new larger M.2 in, then clone from old to new M.2
