Can the acer iconia a700 receive single-button headset clicks?

Hi,

I'm trying to control playback on my iconia a700 using a headset with a single button.  Android software is available that can turn multiple clicks of a headset button into play/pause, skip, or volume updates.  I've bought a headset that claimed to be compatible with the iconia a700 but pressing the button has no effect.  Changing the software didn't make it any better.  I know the headset and software can work on a friends android phone.

Can the iconia a700 receive any headset button clicks at all?

Is there a particular brand or headset feature I should be looking for?

Is there a particular piece of software I need to use?

Thanks for your help.

Matthew

I am not aware of this feature being available on the A700.

We are unable to recommend particular third party software or hardware.

There is an app on google play that allows you to choose what headphone buttona will do, search for something like headphone button or near that Smiley Happy

I've already tried two different headphone apps from the android store.  Neither of them react to any button clicks at all.
