E5-575g-53VG WHEA-Logger warning (possibly wifi card)

I got my new computer yesterday and have been spending most of today moving files, installing software, etc. I decided to check Event Viewer tonight and noticed that in the System log under the Windows logs category I see this warning message "WHEA-Logger". I clicked on it and read this:

A corrected hardware error has occurred.

Now, most log/warning messages I ignore but reading the words "hardware error" concerns me a little. I've been Googling and read that it could be the wifi card. When I disable the card via Device Manager this message disappears. I've updated the BIOS and rolled-back the driver with no luck. In spite of these messages, wifi appears to be functioning normally. I've done ping testsfor a while and am not getting any packet loss or extremely high latency spikes.

I'm curious if anybody else is getting this warning in their Event Viewer logs. The wifi chipset installed in this laptop is a Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377.

To anyone having this problem still. Acer seems to have released a new bios in march that at least for me has fixed this issue even on the latest drivers. It has only been 2 days since I updated the bios bot no warnings at all in that time even with the newest wireless and ethernet drivers.

This partains to the acer aspire E5-774G-52W1 hopefully other models in the e5 series get a similar update to fix this. I haven't waited long enough to be sure the bsod problem I was having has anything to do with this issue but we will see in a month or 2 if I don't get anymore blue screens

I've got a F5-573g-52PI and I've got the same problem. Same wi-fi card and also no problems with traffic that I can notice. I used to get more warnings with updated drivers, but now that I reverted to the old Acer ones I get 3 warnings after each start or wake up from sleep.

Same thing has been happening to me from the day I bought it in Sept. Don't think its the wifi card, but the Intel wireless adapter (if that's a different thing). The Vendor/Device info (Ven_8086 Dev_9D1B) shows it's the Intel processor Family I/O PCI Express Root Port #12 -9D1B. But I could be wrong because I have no idea what I'm talking about. If the problem is the driver, which it may or may not be, there are two updated Intel chipset drivers for this device, Skylake and KabyLake. Don't know which one is the right one, if it is a driver problem.

A lot of HP owners have also been experiencing this for a long time. Some have claimed that pushing the power settings up to maximum for the PCI Express and Wireless Adapter Settings have stopped the flood of WHEA-Logger warnings. It's slowed them down for me, but has not gotten rid of them. Others have disabled the 9D1B device...which seems a bit harsh if it is the wireless adapter.

Not much about it here at the Acer boards, but tons of useless advice is floating around, with no answers..

The only option that worked was to disable this device,
And the warnings disappear, but I do not know the consequences,
So I do not do.

Thanks for the replies, glad to know it not something that's wrong with just my laptop. I disabled the card again for a bit longer time period and still got an occasional WHEA-Logger warning.

I found it, I deactivated realtek pcie gbe family controller and the stop events messages., I looked at the device manager using display per connection. Sem título.png

II tried LEONMNZS's suggestion and disabled the Gig E card and the messages stopped for now. I wonder if the issue is with problems with coping with the amount of devices on the pci-e bus. To test this hypothesis, i re-enabled the Gig E card and disabled the card reader which is also on the pci-e bus. I got only 1 message.

I think I've found the problem, at least for me.

The event warning referenced this system device: Mobile 6th Generation Intel Processor Family I/O PCI Express Root Port #12 - 9D1B.

Going trough that device's Properties and Events in Device Manager, I saw comments that the device "requires further installation" ..it "needed_PCI_driver." A little Googleing and I learned that when Windows 10 updated, not all the drivers made it. The update configured the drivers and started the process, but for some reason did not finish the installation.

The configuring of the driver, but failure to complete installation, left behind a frustrating artifact - the Driver tab in Properties shows that a driver is installed. It isn't. The information in the Events tab tells the story.

I then looked at the "siblings" and "children" of that system device and I found that they, too, were missing the PCI driver - PCI Standard Host CPU Bridge; PCI Express Root Complex; Legacy Device under System Devices....and, under Network Adapters - Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller and Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 Wireless Network Adapter. There may even be more than one driver missing. That will have to wait until tomorrow.

I did something and it worked, I went in the device manager, I selected Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller, then I selected the driver tab, driver update, select dirver manually, allow me to choose from list of drives and chose a 2015 driver version 9.1.404 .2015 and ok, and install concluding restarting the system immediately, i had cleared the log of the events before, and after restarting I dont see any event alerts anymore. Finally, then we can test with doing this with the latest drivers in the list, for now I'm happy without that message every second. Try to do, I hope it works. Hugs

I have the same problem with my E5-575G-39M5. Two PCI Express Root ports (9D1A and 9D1B) logs a lot of warnings WHEA-Logger - A corrected hardware error has occurred (almost every minute), 9D1B more often. Several times computer falled to BSOD Smiley Sad Is there any software solution of this issue?

where did you get the 2015 driver? when I choose to update driver manually it wants me to locate the file

I formatted the notebook with clean windows, updated, the messages continue in all the builds I used, the only solution I found was to use a 2015 driver, this driver appeared in the list when installing the driver by selecting manually. Update driver / Allow me to choose from a list of device drivers on my computer.

I did this and the flooding of the whea logger warnings has stopped however I get 2 of those warnings when starting up the compuiter or coming out of sleep mode.
