Predator 17 G9-791 Issues with 2nd monitor randomly disconnecting.

I am having some issues that, after running some tests, seem to only be reoccuring with my Predator 17.

 

 

A few weeks ago, my 2nd monitor, a Viewsonic which I have hooked up to the HDMI port, started randomly shutting off and disconnecting (along with the Windows disconnect sound). At first it started doing it once every couple of hours, but then started occuring more and more frequently until it was unusable.

 

I thought it was a faulty HDMI wire so I bought a new one and it still persisted. 

 

I then tried hooking the monitor up to another laptop to see where the issue was, and so far, the Viewsonic is working just fine on the other laptop.

 

It seems like the issue is with the Predator.

 

I've updated my video driver as well and still had no success.

 

 

If anyone has experienced anything like this that can potentially help, it'd be greatly appreciated.

If both monitors are disconnecting when connected to the same HDMI port then likely the port is the issue, which will need repair to resolve. Please contact Acer support for assistance with this from this link:
