So, now the DVD-RW driver does not stay enabled.

No DVD-RW driver available in the Drivers Section, every other hardware driver is there.

So, is there a driver/fix available for this?

I installed software from the drive after installig Win 7 Pro, so the drive is operational.

Windows Explorer Computer option only shows HDD C:\, not C: & D:\dvd-rw.

It does load during Reboot, but it just goes away after the computer has been running for awhile.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have the latest AHCI Intel zip file from the Acer web site.

Could this be a BIOS issue?

Thank you for your time and effort.

If the drive is not showing up in Device Manager this generally means a hardware problem with the device. The best way to eliminate hardware or a software issue with the non-OEM operating system as the problem, is to restore the system back to factory configurations using the recovery media. If you did not create the recovery back up before installing Windows 7 Pro and you purchased the system in North America, you can purchase the recovery media from the Acer store at http://store.acer.com/.
