I recently purchased the Chromebook15. I have upgraded the Chrome OS to v.54. I thought that the newest OS would allow me access and enable me to download from the Google Play Store but it does not. I went into settings to look for the "Enable Google Play Store" but that setting is not listed.

According to https://sites.google.com/a/chromium.org/dev/chromium-os/chrome-os-systems-supporting-android-apps   it should be later 2016 or 2017.  Well it's pretty late 2016

 

Will the Google Play Store ever be available for the Chromebook15, CB5-571?

 

Does Acer have a Chromebook that has Google Play available now?

Google has control over when the Playstore or Android apps are available on computer models. The only suggestion is to check back on this site as Google updates this link: https://www.chromium.org/chromium-os/chrome-os-systems-supporting-android-apps.
