Hello.

I cannot seem to find a solution to this problem on any forums.

My Iconia tablet is experiencing the following problems:

  • no indicator lights when plugged in
  • power button non-responsive
  • will not restart
  • will not charge (at least, doesn't inidcate that it is charging and will not power on) when plugged into wall outlet or computer via USB

The tablet was working right before these problems began. It gave no inidcation of a low battery or any other problems. It started with the screen going black, the windows button would cause the tablet to vibrate when pressed. Now, nothing is responding on the tablet.

I DO NOT have the keyboard available to help with troubleshooting.

I am personally an apple user, but this is a tablet my boss has purchased for the workplace. I am not sure if I am just missing something, or if there is something wrong with this thing? It all happened so fast... Smiley Sad

Or might just be a bad power supply. W510 has a screwy connector (looks like an Apple connector) on the bottom and requires a special power supply. (are less expensive options bit this is the real Acer supply.

ps you cannot charge a W510 through the USB connection (I have one).

If there is no power lights and the power button does not power on the system we recommend the tablet be serviced by our Acer repair depot. This is likely a problem with the mainboard. You can contact Acer from the info posted at http://www.acer.com/ac/en/CA/content/service-contact.

Thank you! This was the root of the problem. The only cord we could find was the USB cord, which was not working. Once we saw that we needed a specific power supply to charge the tablet, it was smooth sailing Smiley Happy Woman Very Happy
